Be careful out there.
Deciding on the right IT Solutions Provider for your business can be a tricky process, who do I contact, are they all just sales talk or can they actually technically deliver what I require , do they have the technical competency to provide me with a first class service, can I trust them, and most importantly - are they "the right fit"
As an IT Solution Provider and Cloud Computing Services Provider, one of the major challenges we face when meeting potential new clients is being asked to provide lower level of prices, but also deliver a higher level of service than our competitors. This is very challenging in any market. A lot of business are under financial pressure and can sometimes tend to base their IT requirements solely on price. This can be a risky strategy for a number of reasons.
Let me give you a real scenario that has actually happened. A business needed to refresh their Traditional On-Site Premise solution, and due to financial pressure they awarded the contract on the basis of the lowest price supplied. Historically, they were logging a minimal number of helpdesk service requests for normal day to day assistance. Since their new IT Infrastructure was installed, their service call rate jumped massively. Being advised on the wrong solution because it was the cheapest and not having the technical competency to deploy effectively has impacted on how this company is now performing. Business continuity is at risk, and staff are constantly being disrupted in carrying out their normal work duties.
Businesses also need to be aware of the consequences of implementing certain IT decisions. The cheapest option today can mean having to spend more in the long term. All businesses need to consider how certain decision made today may impact on the balance sheet in 1 or 2 years’ time, or how it can cost more to reverse the initial bad decision.
My advice is to ask a lot of questions. Is the cheapest price today going to limit my option for the future and cost me more money in the long term, do you really have the technical competency that is required, can you recommend and suggest credible options, can they really help you to make informed decisions, and really become you IT Partner, can you trust them, and most importantly are they "right fit"
At DNA IT Solutions, we can help you to make that right choice.
